Today in Masonic History we present our 2024 Christmas message.
On this special day we take the opportunity to talk about Freemasonry and it's role in the world.
"A new commandment I give unto you, that you love one another" - John 13:34
Whether your view of Jesus is savior or philosopher, there is a simple truth to his teachings. He was of humanity and gave simple directions on how we needed to treat each other. To be truly worthy of the path he set before us, we must follow in his example of kindness and compassion.
While Freemasonry is open to those of many faiths, at it's core it upholds the tenants of humanitarianism Jesus taught. When we are kind to our neighbor, we are kind to ourselves. When we give of ourselves, we are receiving a gift. When we help others, we are helping ourselves. These are some of the basic ideas our fraternity shares with the philosophy Christ taught his disciples.
During this time we need to remember the nature of Christ's teachings. He taught us in so many ways we needed to be kindest to those who are without, those who are in need of hope and those seeking refuge. No matter your beliefs, to love humanity is to walk in the footsteps of Jesus.
In this season of peace, regardless of your religion or affiliation with the masonic fraternity, I hope you find a way to set aside the hate which comes with stereotypes or preconceived notions. Make room in your heart for kindness, forgiveness and the love of mankind. More than ever the World needs our efforts in this endeavor.
I hope everyone who reads this has a Merry Christmas and celebrates the idea of peace on Earth and goodwill toward ALL man kind.
