Today in Masonic History we present The Working Tools by Rob Morris.
Let us be true, â each Working ToolÂ
The Master places in our careÂ
Imparts a stern but wholesome ruleÂ
To all who work and journey hereÂ
The Architect divine has usedÂ
The Plumb, the Level and the Square.Â
Let us be wise the Level see!Â
How certain is the doom of man!Â
So humble should Freemasons beÂ
Who work within this narrow spanÂ
No room for pride and vanityÂ
Let wisdom rule our every plan.Â
Let us be just behold the Square!Â
Its pattern deviates no partÂ
From that which, in the Master's care,Â
Tries all the angles of the heart.Â
O sacred implement divine,Â
Blest emblem of Masonic art!Â
Let us be true the unerring Plumb,Â
Dropped from the unseen Master's hand,Â
Rich fraught with truthfulness has come,Â
To bid us rightly walk and standÂ
That the All-seeing Eye of GodÂ
May bless us from the heavenly land.Â
Dear friend, whose generous heart I know,Â
Whose virtues shine so far abroad, âÂ
Long may you linger here below,Â
To share what friendship may afford!Â
Long may the Level, Plumb and Square,Â
Speak forth through you the works of God.
