Today in Masonic history Henry J. Bean is born in 1853.
Henry J. Bean was an American politician and jurist.
Bean was born in Maine. After attending school and passing the bar in Maine, Bean moved to Pendleton, Oregon.
In Pendleton Bean served as City Attorney and as city recorder.
In 1889 Bean was elected to the Oregon State House and served in the Lower Chamber.
Between 1886 and 1910 Bean served as District Attorney and county judge for Umtatilla County. Finally being selected as Circuit Court Judge in 1906 serving until 1910.
Bean was elected to the Oregon Supreme Court and would remain there for 30 years until his death. During his 30 years on the Court he would serve as Chief Justice twice.
